An idea about saving the world

National Geographic magazine used hard-hitting imagery to launch its plastics campaign, but it also made a statement by swapping plastic for paper wraps for magazine deliveries.

Watch NatGeo’s ‘Plastics 101’ video.

An idea about a very big day

With every brand desperately trying to cash in on the royal wedding, KFC came up with its own tribute – a limited edition, fine bone china ‘royal bucket’. Details included a special crest and a gold rim. Pure class.

See it in all its royal glory here.

An idea about artefacts

When Liverpool’s Mo Salah won the Premier League’s Golden Boot, Adidas donated a pair of his boots to the British Museum. The Museum put them beside some ancient sandals to “tell a story of a modern Egyptian icon”.

See the museum’s ‘room 61’, the new home of the unused X17 Deadly Strike boots which also contains wall paintings from the tomb-chapel of Nebamun, a wealthy Egyptian official.

Every month we run the rule over the best ideas from around the world - ideas that we think represent our real ideas™ ethos

An idea about food snobbery

Greggs reinvented itself as ‘Gregory and Gregory’ and went undercover at a fancy food festival to launch its summer range. Cue various well-heeled punters spluttering into their roast tomato and feta salad.

The video has to be seen to believed – watch it here.

An idea about constructive criticism

When videos appeared showing millennials struggling to open Fray Bentos pie tins, new(-ish) owner Baxters jumped in, issuing tips and promising to redesign the iconic pastry receptacle.

Watch a man trying to open a Fray Bentos with a large kitchen knife and a hammer.
